Medical Care

Our vets are well equipped to provide your beloved pets with excellent medical treatment. We treat patients either as outpatients for the easier diseases such as a simple gastroenteritis to the more complicated treatments where our patients receive intensive care and treatment such as  lifesaving blood transfusions, intravenous fluids, intravenous antibiotics and feeding tubes for nutritional support.  They remain hospitalised until they are well enough to come home. Our vets have a keen interest in solving complicated cases and stay up to date with the latest research by attending regular CPD talks and congresses.

As small animal general practitioners we use our specialised in house equipment to determine the cause of your pet’s illness and devise suitable protocols to ensure adequate treatment. All cases are treated as priority and we work as a team to ensure your pets get better as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

We receive many questions with regards to patient care and cases. If the questions below don’t answer yours, please contact us and speak to our friendly staff who may assist you.

What if my dog needs 24 hour care?

If any case requires specialist care or 24 hour nursing care we refer our patients to Bryanston Veterinary hospital and keep informed by the hospital as to our patients progress. We are not a 24 hour hospital and if the veterinarian on duty feels your pet needs ICU care for any reason we will assist you in getting continued medical treatment at the specialist facility.

If my animal is in hospital can I visit him/her?

Our visiting hours are from 3pm – 5:30pm during the week, 9am-12pm on Saturdays and 10am-12pm on Sundays.  You are welcome to bring your beloved pet’s favourite toy, blanket, treats or food as long as the diet is reviewed by the vet.

Will I see the same doctor every time?

We are a close group of veterinarians who share each other’s workload. If you happen to see a different vet for a follow up consultation or a check-up we assure you, the vet on duty will have knowledge of your pet and his / her ailment.  We are very dedicated and can always be contacted by our colleagues about specific cases.
