I started my studies with a Honours degree in Agriculture, after which I decided that Veterinary Science was actually my passion. I qualified in 1983 from the Faculty of Onderstepoort and started my career as a large animal vet.
When I moved to Boksburg I became a partner at Boksburg Animal Hospital, and after a few years I started the practice in Witfield. Since then I also opened North Rand Road Animal Hospital in 1999, and Glen Marais Animal Hospital in 2011. I enjoy orthopaedic surgery, and I have a special interest in birds. I also still enjoy treating large animals and horses when it is possible, and by occasion even camels and ostriches.
In my spare time I enjoy visiting the Kruger National Park or Pilanesburg. I am a avid bird watcher, and I also enjoy photography. I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren and my wife has always been there to support me through my career.
